Article: Remembered

Remembered
When all is said and done, I believe we all desire to be remembered well.
We hope for words or thoughts that evoke good things.
Kind.
Faithful.
Honest.
God-fearing.
Loving.
But once our time has come, we have no more influence on what those words might be.
I love the Maya Angelou quote - "I've learned that people will forget what you said, people will forget what you did, but people will never forget how you made them feel".
My words and actions are important, but maybe they don't have the impact that my "presence" does.
So, how DO I make people feel? Especially those I love most.
I want it to be good things.
Important.
Loved.
Respected.
At ease.
I hope they would feel better.
So I consider this reality - I influence today how I am remembered, if I'm not here tomorrow.
My words matter. My actions matter. My presence matters.
Things within my control.
I want to make them count.
For good.
