My garden is ever evolving. But I believe that’s the nature of gardens. Honestly, my idea of gardening evolves too. I love to begin a day here and end a day here. It enlivens me to start my day and calms me to be ready for rest. It’s my small piece of heaven.
My wife loves being a mother.
I’ve never heard her once wish that she could be away from her children.
She embraced it wholeheartedly from the moment our first daughter was placed in her arms to this present moment where that same daughter is navigating her way as a sixteen year old.
It’s not that it’s all been easy – some days are absolutely exhausting.
But she hangs on during those days with a devotion that can only come from a parent or a spouse.
If I had to sum up her role as a Mom, it would have to be “sacrificial”.
I love that innate commitment that God places in us that says “I will never stop loving you – I would die for you”. A commitment that has only truly been shown on the cross.
My hat is off to all of you who live the daily life of motherhood. I think it is one of the most difficult jobs on earth.
And one of the most fulfilling.
Happy Mother’s Day!
Gail Hyatt shared a link with me to your site and I’m so grateful. Your work is stunning, David. Thank you for using your gifts to glorify God and bless His people.
I am in awe of your work. You say and paint, you illustrate what is in my soul better than I can say it or show it. Thank you.
