Books are one of my great joys in life. I still prefer to touch and smell the paper, hold it in my hand, and slowly watch my progression as I turn one page at a time. A bookmark can be personal for me. It can say something about myself or the person who gave it to me. If I receive one as a gift, I am reminded of that special person continually as I move it from page to page, then book to book.
FRONT: Hummingbirds are an image of perpetual motion. When you do see one still, it is a bit of a shock. Like us, being still can seem unnatural. Here one sits, still, suspended by God. It’s in that stillness that God grows our souls and quiets our hearts.
BACK: “As the years go by I grow more and more convinced that “stillness” is essential for my life. When I ignore it, it show up in a restless, anxious heart.” — David Arms
