Gicleés (meaning “sprayed ink”) utilize the latest technology in reproducing artwork that retains the subtle detail and color of the original. These gicleés are produced on high quality canvas then stretched on a wood frame that is 1 1/2 inches deep. With “gallery wrap” edges, they are ready to hang since framing is not necessary. Since each gicleé is produced at the time of order, your order will be shipped within 2 weeks. Each gicleé is signed, numbered and limited to an edition of 95.
The Story of the Painting
I did this painting from a photo I took in a small, remote village in South Sudan, called Lietnhom.
It was there that I made the giant step from knowing the need for clean water in impoverished areas of the world, to understanding how life changing something as basic as a well can be.
Not that long ago, this community only had access to water that looked something like coffee with cream.
But after receiving a well, they now drink water that is crystal clear. Sounds pretty simple.
And it is.
But just because something is basic doesn’t mean all people have it. Or even access to it.
This well is now a gathering place for the community. Where life happens.
In this hot, dry climate, it is beautiful to see its people joyfully drinking deeply and enjoying the refreshing sensation of cool water.
Witnessing this gave me a much clearer understanding of Living Water. All people are called to drink.
And have hope.
Sounds pretty simple. And it is.
I hope this image can be hung in your home, church or workplace, as a reminder to drink deeply.
And you will have taken part in reaching out to the beautiful people of the war-torn country, South Sudan.
